Hi. I picked this old Czech guitar up recently on ebay but the neck has a 'wobble'. It appears loose:

I can only see one obvious way the neck is secured to the body:

Is that just a nut in to a threaded insert in the body? It looks like an old clock winder! Odd shape of nut?!

I have read that it is some kind of adjustment, but I'm thinking its literally that simple. eek

Thought I'd ask as I want to re-fret this instrument and removing the neck would make that a LOT easier.

Well I ordered a brass clock winding tool ..

Which did the trick. I was brave and unscrewed the thing.

It was indeed just a single threaded insert and a bolt holding the neck on. I really appreciate the utility of that - it has lasted over half a century and still works fine. [:Y:]
